Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in the United States

LIHEAP, administered by the HHS Administration for Children and Families, helps low-income households afford home heating and cooling. Federal block grants flow to states, tribes, and territories, which deliver assistance for energy bills, energy crises, weatherization, and minor energy-related home repairs. LIHEAP does not provide direct grants to individuals.
