Public Service Loan Forgiveness in the United States

Public Service Loan Forgiveness, run by the U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid office, forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after a borrower makes 120 qualifying monthly payments while working full-time for a qualifying government or 501(c)(3) not-for-profit employer under an income-driven or 10-year Standard Repayment Plan.

Administering agency: U.S. Department of Education / Federal Student Aid

The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan, and while working full-time for an eligible employer.
